Frequently Asked Questions

Which light colour should I choose: 3000K, 4000K or 6500K?

3000K is warm white; it suits places for relaxing such as homes, hotels and restaurants. 4000K is neutral white, preferred in offices, shops and schools. 6500K is daylight, used in workshops, warehouses and work areas that need concentration.

It is best not to mix different light colours in the same space. If you are unsure, describe the space and we will choose together.

What do IP20, IP65 and IP67 mean? Which one is needed outdoors?

The IP rating shows how well a luminaire is protected against dust and water: the first digit is for dust, the second for water. IP20 is for dry interiors. IP65 is dust-tight and resists water jets; outdoors – façades, gardens, under eaves – this is the minimum to look for. IP67 also withstands temporary immersion and is used for in-ground fittings or where water may collect.

The protection rating of each product is listed in the technical specifications on its page.

Do you manufacture to custom sizes and colours for my project?

Yes. All of our products are made in-house. Many linear luminaires are produced to the length you need, many products in a body colour of any RAL code, and with different power options. For projects the standard range cannot cover, we also design custom luminaires.

Send us the dimensions and quantities, and the quote will state feasibility and lead time.

Do you carry out the lighting design and the site survey yourselves?

Yes. İZLED provides lighting design, manufacturing and installation together: a lighting plan is prepared for the space and the need, the products are manufactured, and the luminaires are supplied and installed on site.

How the survey is carried out (on site or from drawings) and its terms depend on the project and are stated in the quote.

How much will I save by switching to LED lighting?

LED luminaires give the same light with about 80% less energy than incandescent lamps and usually 40–50% less than fluorescent fittings; as they last long, maintenance and replacement costs fall as well.

Your saving depends on your existing fittings, daily hours of use and electricity tariff. Tell us the current situation and we will work it out for your project.

How long is the warranty on the products?

The warranty period depends on the product and is stated in the quote.

How long do LED luminaires last?

The working life of LEDs is around 50,000 hours. At 10 hours a day, that is more than 13 years.

The actual life depends on operating temperature, the driver and conditions of use. Good cooling of the luminaire and using it in the right place (for example the right IP rating outdoors) directly affect its life.

What is the lead time?

Lead time depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a custom production; it is stated in the quote.

Do you deliver and install outside Ankara?

Delivery and installation terms depend on the location and scope of the project and are stated in the quote. Just tell us the city and the scope of your project.

How many luminaires and how many watts does a space need?

The number and power of luminaires depend on the dimensions of the area, the ceiling height, the colour of the surfaces and the required lighting level (lux). For example, around 500 lux is the target for office work areas and around 100 lux for corridors.

A lighting calculation gives the right answer. Send us the plan or the dimensions of the space and we will calculate and suggest products and quantities.

What is CRI and why does it matter?

CRI (colour rendering index) expresses, on a scale of 0–100, how accurately a light source shows colours; 100 is closest to daylight. For general indoor use, 80 and above is considered sufficient; where colours matter, such as shops and exhibitions, 90 and above is preferred.

For our products whose specifications list CRI, the value is above 80.

What is a wallwasher and where is it used?

A wallwasher is a linear luminaire that "washes" a wall or façade surface with even light from end to end. It is used on building façades, towers, in garden and landscape applications and for perimeter lighting.

Our VENUS series (VENUS30, VENUS60, VENUS90, VENUS120) is rated IP65 and is produced in single-colour and RGB versions.

Are there colour (RGB) and dimmable options?

Many of our linear, wallwasher and landscape products are produced in RGB and single-colour (amber, blue, green, red) versions. The options for each product are listed in the "Light colour" row on its page.

Dimming and control options depend on the product and are stated in the quote.

How can I get a quote? What information should I send?

Fill in the form on the contact page, or reach us by phone or e-mail.

The type and dimensions of the space (a plan if you have one), the ceiling height, the light colour you want, the product you are interested in and the quantity all speed up our quote. Photos of the space help too.

What is an LED and how does it work?

LED stands for "Light Emitting Diode". LEDs are semiconductor components that turn electrical energy directly into light.

As there is no heated filament as in an incandescent lamp, they give the same light with far less energy and last a long time.
